What has been your best moment with PMC so far?

I have been working at PMC for almost a year now and every moment has been wonderful. I have had many memorable moments even in this short journey till now. Two of the best moments, which I can never forget, are firstly when I got a call from the PMC recruitment team. It was my first opportunity to take the process forward by conveying my interest and enthusiasm through a brief telephone conversation.

The second and the most memorable one so far was when, one day, my manager called me to have a ‘quick catch-up’. I came out with my confirmation letter, the proof that I was now a full time and permanent employee at one of the most sought-after companies in Vadodara! The most heartening moment was when my work in the short three-month tenure was appreciated, which was conveyed to me by my manager. It was truly a ‘Good-job’ Wednesday.

What has surprised you most since you started with PMC?

The most surprising part of working at PMC is the appreciation and respect which every employee gets right from the first day. Most employees look for these two boosters in their job.

This appreciation is not only given in organisation level meetings but are conveyed daily by the managers to the employees, and also on a peer-to-peer basis.

Since my first day at PMC, my manager and colleagues have appreciated my work in many ways, from thanking me in person, to in emails for tasks that I have completed. Apart from this, I have felt really good when I have been able to contribute to many tasks apart from my project (BAU) – which suggests that my work is appreciated and respected.”

What are your targets for the next 1,3, and 5 years?

Since my day of joining, PMC has always encouraged me to grow – if I grow, I will not only be able to improve my skills, but will also be able to contribute to the organisation’s growth, which is both my short-term and long-term aim. Keeping this in mind, I have set the below targets for myself, for the next 1,3 and 5 years:

Target for the next year: To prove and showcase my skills, in order to attain the title of a Business Analyst at PMC, as this is not only about achieving the next higher designation, but is also about enhancing my confidence, which improves my work, enabling me to do a better job.

Target for the next 3 years: I would like to enhance my project and people management skills, making myself capable enough to be considered as the first choice for any new opportunity which comes at PMC. For this, I would like to showcase my skills in many work areas, which can be my BAU, the roles played by a Scrum Master, a Project Manager, and some of the skills required for a managerial role.

Target for the next 5 years: In the next 5 years, I would like to be in a Senior Business Analystor a Project Manager at PMC. Because along with improving my skills as a Business Analyst, I would eventually like to move to a people-management role.

What's the best thing about your role?

I have become a Business Analyst by choice. I do what I chose to do every day and it does not feel like I’m working when it is at PMC, as I enjoy my work.

There are many good and likeable things about my role. The best thing about my role is that I get to interact with a variety of people. This helps me to understand them, their way of working, and their approach to various situations. Whilst understanding them, I am also able to learn new things.

The next best thing about my role is that I get to own and manage the project’s requirements. This puts me in situations where I am required to take decisions and pass them for review to be finalised. Hence, improving my decision-making skills and analytical skills.

My role requires me to conduct project-specific discussions. This not only improves my communication skills but also improves my negotiation skills, problem management skills, and effort estimation skills.”
