Carl Haggas, Managing Director PMC India & HR Director PMC flew over from the UK to run with everyone in Vadodara International Marathon. On his first marathon experience in India, Carl said, “It was great fun to be part of the PMC team who participated in the different races held at the Vadodara International Marathon. The whole event and atmosphere were fantastic. It was also a great way to promote health and wellbeing, so it was wonderful that so many of the PMC team took part.”
Monali Dhavaskar, Country Head Business Support, added, “It’s not the DISTANCE you must conquer in running, it’s YOURSELF! The PMC team proved it by participating across all categories of the Vadodara International Marathon. We strongly believe that a healthy employee makes a healthy work environment, which is essential for both personal and business success. Kudos to our team for conquering all the barriers and showing incredible team spirit.”
The Vadodara International Marathon is also associated with numerous charities, So our team of 112 participants is also supporting 75 NGOs and impacting 14,800 lives.* Our Chairman, Paul Mason expressed his delight at the overwhelming participation by PMC India. Talking about it, Paul said, “That was a fantastic response and fantastic commitment by everyone to support the city marathon. It is a massive event with a wonderful purpose of raising money for charities. I am proud of everyone who participated”.
The Marathon saw participation not only from seasoned runners but also a large number of first-time runners. Ankit Doshi has been running marathons for a couple of years. This year he did his first Half Marathon. He added, “It was an amazing experience to achieve the half marathon. The most challenging, wonderful, and worthwhile thing I’ve done in recent times with some incredible people. I completed the run thinking that I have never met another group that is more enthusiastic about each other’s success. Thanks to all volunteers, runners, musicians, and roadside folks for cheering us. Also, thanks to PMC for sponsoring this adventure.”
Akanksha Joshi ran her maiden marathon this year. She adds “A 5km marathon may not sound difficult. But, being a first-time runner, it was a little hard to come out of the comfort zone. The excitement of running with fellow PMC colleagues and coming closer to the finish line pushed me hard to finish it. My first marathon was a simultaneously painful and heart-warming experience! Ready to sign up for Quarter Marathon next year!"
As they say, A good laugh and a long run is a cure for everything! PMC will be back next year with the much bigger numbers!
