Like all successful businesses, PMC believes that new talent is vital for growth. As part of this growth, PMC understands the significance of welcoming new graduates into our organisation. The PMC Internship and Graduate Trainee Programmes create a win-win situation for PMC, our partner universities and the graduates who join PMC as new interns.
Talking about how the internship programs play a strategic role in the growth story of PMC, Shetul Parikh, Country Head – Operations, Head of Product and Technical Services, shares "Attracting and Hiring fresh entry-level talent has always been key to PMC's growth journey. The investments PMC has been making in the Internships Program is a strong testament to PMC's commitment to Academic Partners and driving campus " Campus to Corporate" Initiatives. Our interns bring new energy and fresh perspectives to the business and are given an opportunity to work within PMC, which offers them a state-of-art infrastructure and the tools to succeed in their jobs. This program is a great example of the PMC Philosophy of developing nurturing, and promoting from within - making the program a win-win for both PMC and the graduates."
Committed to Academic Partnership
PMC believes in showing commitment and building long-term partnerships with academia. Our collaboration with universities encompasses career counselling sessions with the students, internship and placement programs, lectures by PMC subject matter experts, and periodic engagement to drive mutual benefits.
Our early intervention through career counselling to the pre-final and final year students have enriched our relationships with the universities further.
Talking about our PMC internship and graduate training program, Dr Avani R Vasant – Professor & Head of Department of Computer Science and Engineering - Babaria Institute of technology, explains, “The Babaria Institute of Technology has had an association with PMC since 2015. This partnership offers a commitment to providing our students with career guidance and the required skill sets for the retail technology sector.”
“PMC provides training, expert sessions, workshops, career counselling and internship opportunities to work on live projects that help our students to trace their lucrative career path. We are indebted to have this collaboration to imbibe the qualities of enlightened leadership and instil a level of trust and confidence in our students to serve the community.”
Remote Onboarding
This year has been difficult, especially for the new graduates. But we believe that young minds are the future business leaders. So at PMC we have doubled our internship intake this year. Owing to the pandemic, we onboarded the interns remotely across various teams. This required some innovative approaches from PMC and for the universities to play a key role in bridging any communication gaps.
Talking about the onboarding experience, PMC intern Aakash Chudasama, who has joined Testing team says, “My interview at PMC was really comfortable and a pleasant experience. All the interviewers were extremely supportive. They ensured that I was not nervous during the whole process. Even after joining PMC, I must say that the culture at PMC is quite amazing. Everyone is extremely helpful and supportive. I believe this is one of the best places to learn, work, and grow.”
(Interns interacting with their teams and mentors)
The PMC interns undertake project work as a part of their academic curriculum. They are given the opportunity to work on live projects and train on various technologies simultaneously. Support and coaching in the form of a mentor is always available to them as stepping into the corporate world can be overwhelming.
Talking about this, PMC intern, Sakshee Kachchhi, who has joined Customer Development team, says “While having a highly skilled and talented team, PMC also has great mentors who help you throughout your journey, not only in domain-specific learning, but also time management and other work ethics."
Staying True to PMC Core Values
We believe in being ‘Open, Honest, and Direct’. This enables us to do the right thing for everyone and go the extra mile to achieve successful outcomes. At PMC, we have a Zero Tolerance Policy and we take pride in being an equal opportunity employer. Opportunities and treatment irrespective of the seniority is a given for PMC employees. Concurring this, Ami Sanghani, who joined as an intern in 2017 and now works as a test analyst, adds “My overall journey with PMC has been incredible and I received opportunities to work on many challenging projects. The best thing about PMC is its work environment, culture, and that there are growth opportunities for everyone. PMC is a great place to work”
To the Successes Ahead
At PMC, we look forward to the positive impact our new interns will have on our business and, in turn, commit to creating every opportunity for their future successes.
